RIDS Tuber Auction!!!
The RIDS Annual Tuber Auction & Sale is one of our most anticipated events of the year! Held each spring before planting time, members supply tubers of some of the most sought after dahlias, inducing a veritable dahlia buying frenzy in the experienced and uninitiated alike. Many named varieties are available in individual packages, as well as unidentified varieties in multi-packs at bargain prices. Most tubers are named varieties, many of which sell at bargain prices. Plants are often offered for sale as well.
One of the benefits of buying at the auction is that you are buying stock that has been grown locally. Tubers grown from local sources often do better their first year than those purchased from other areas of the country. Also, the proceeds of the auction support the RIDS Dahlia Show awards in September. The RIDS Tuber Auction is open to RIDS members and the public, and is a great opportunity to get started with dahlias, or to expand your dahlia collection. So whether you are an experienced grower or you are new to dahlias, come see what you’re missing!
