About This Event
As the growing season winds down, the learning doesn't stop. Join the Rhode Island Dahlia Society for an informal afternoon gathering focused on everything that happens after the blooms fade — and before the first frost hits.
RIDS members will share their personal end-of-season practices, tips for digging and storing tubers, and their experiences with dahlia hybridizing — including collecting seedpods, labeling, and tracking results from season to season.
Topics will include:
When and how to dig dahlia tubers
Cleaning, dividing, and storing tubers over winter
Collecting and saving seedpods for hybridizing
Garden cleanup and bed preparation for next season
Member hybridizing experiences and results
Whether you're wrapping up your first dahlia season or your fortieth, there's always something new to learn from fellow growers. Come with questions, come with stories, and come ready to share.
